I’m proud to represent Assembly District 1 as a California Democratic delegate and Executive Board Member. I believe focusing on the needs of our neighbors and families will strengthen our party.

As an elected official in Nevada City, I’ve worked hard to meet the real needs of my community. Whether it’s tackling the housing shortage, supporting local businesses, or preparing for wildfire threats, I know that grassroots politics isn’t about right or left—it’s about finding solutions that work. In our politically mixed county, we come together to address challenges in ways that transcend party lines. The state and the Party can learn from our example of practical problem-solving and collaboration.

On the Nevada City Council, I’ve championed initiatives that strengthen our community and reflect our shared values. I led the creation of the city’s first Public Art Commission, expanded pedestrian-friendly spaces downtown, and helped establish a government-to-government partnership with the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe. I’ve also worked to ensure housing policies protect local families while addressing the pressures of short-term rentals.

My approach to leadership is simple: listen to people, identify real solutions, and follow through. With over 20 years of experience in social services, I’ve worked with seniors, people with disabilities, and families in crisis. These experiences taught me the importance of thoughtful, practical leadership that puts people first. While I value collaboration, I also believe we must hold firm to our principles. Everyone deserves respect and the chance to thrive. Leadership means standing up for those too often overlooked, ensuring everyone has a seat at the table.

Our district and the state face challenges—housing affordability, rural economic development, wildfire preparedness, and equitable infrastructure. To address these, the Democratic Party must connect with voters by focusing on solutions that improve lives in tangible ways. I will ensure rural voices are heard and help shape a platform that balances innovation with practicality, vision with action.

It’s time to rebuild the Democratic Party to reflect the values of communities like ours—where people come together, roll up their sleeves, and get things done. I’m honored to be your representative for Assembly District 1 to continue this vital work.
